Herr Vogel - Marquises

"Herr Vogel lädt zum Tanz, wie die Kuckucksuhren zur Stunde."

Gotye - Somebody That I Used To Know (ItaloBros remix)

"Italo Bros respectively born in 1989 in Calabria (italy), deejays "eclectic" music evolving. The duo does not like to categorize music in Calabria, house music offering, techouse, deep, in various shades in every "set", are also distinguished by their charisma, their inventiveness and their engaging way to stand behind the console . Their strength, their charge, their determination is the result of their passion, giving the right and courage to dare to be experimental, but above all to be different." via ItaloBros's SoundCloud

Ty - Emotions

As a make-up artist, a couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of working with this absolutely cool and funny guy called 'Ty' when shooting his next video 'Let's Start' presumably released mid-summer. Gonna post the video on the blog as soon as it's out but in the meantime check out some of his tunes and his official website tymusic.co.uk for more

Nicolas Jaar ft. Sasha Spielberg – Avalanche (Leonard Cohen cover) / Nicolas Jaar Essential Mix

'What is it with Nicolas Jaar and famous people’s kids? First he teamed up with Scout LaRue, daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, and now he’s revealed this track with one Sasha Spielberg. Yes, you guessed it. She just so happens to have a father called Steven who directed some film called ‘Jurassic Park’. If you thought that was intriguing enough, then just wait for this. The track in question is a Leonard Cohen cover, as Jaar takes apart his track ‘Avalanche’ and pieces it back together as a masterpiece of ambient minimalism.' - via thelineofbestfit.com

Listen and download Nico's stunning BBC Radio1 Essential Mix from last weekend. Pure beauty.

Yppah - Film Burn feat. Anomie Belle

"A beautiful, warm and almost nostalgic piece of music-making, "Film Burn” revolves around heartbeat kick, a music box chord sequence, bubbles of electric bass and the voice of Anomie Belle, a singer, producer and classically trained violinist based in Seattle. The pair met when Yppah was touring with Bonobo in 2010, hit it off and, when Belle heard the demos which would make up Eighty One, in the words of Yppah, “it was such a natural fit she ended up doing four tracks!”" via Ninja Tune

Matthew Dekay & Lee Burridge - Lost In A Moment (Original & Dixon Rework)

'For the past two years, we have been playing almost every production by Matthew Dekay & Lee Burridge. Now we're very happy to welcome both of them on Innervisions IV38. "Lost In A Moment" is a track that has given us goosebumps when playing it out in the clubs. A Dixon Mix on the flipside takes a different approach and shows that the summer season is just around the corner.' - via Innervisions

FINALLY! This beauty getting its release in a few days!! Been waiting for that day since Dixon dropped the original in his Boiler Room set in January. Waking up to such news = priceless.

Shaun J. Wright - Forever more ('Empheral Nature' directed by Gsus Lopez)

'Ephemeral Nature' is a film written and directed by Gsus Lopez. Winner of the Grand Prix at ASVOFF Barcelona 2012 for Best Film (Official Selection)

A classy and stylish couple living in a London maisonette hide a secret behind closed doors. They hold a relationship with several plastic objects including hand-made acrylic playful jewellery from a brand called DISPLÈXIA which you repeatedly see throughout the film. The characters’ life moto is pleasure and therefore they are driven by desire. It is their nature. Since all pleasures are ephemeral I decided to give it the title of ‘Ephemeral Nature’. - Gsus Lopez

The soundtrack is a song called ‘Forever More’ by Shaun J. Wright (more known for being the vocalist of the band ‘Hercules & Love Affair’).

Inspired by directors such as Pedro Almodóvar, Xavier Dolan, Wong Kar Wai, Giorgios Lanthimos, and Sang-soo Im among others, ‘Ephemeral Nature’ is a short film with the big influence of Fashion, the speed of a music video and the narrative of an experimental film.' -

XXYYXX - About you

jaw dropped. mind blown.

Amon Tobin - Carry On Marmaduke

"Feted by a list of industry names that range from Trent Reznor to Brian Eno, as expected there’s a richness, intensity and wild contrast to the contents even in this highly distilled environment, the break dominated opener ‘Carry On Marmaduke‘ blending industrial white noise with flute and keyboard motifs, an intriguing combination all leaving the impression of a folk barbershop quartet jamming off their tits somewhere in the orbit of Mars..." via live4ever

Oxia - Tides Of Mind (Album)

"OXIA is releasing this week a flamboyant second album on InFiné. The fans of the first album “24 Heures” released in 2004 will be surprised. The groove remains nonetheless the common denominator of all tracks produced by Oxia. But between this two album, Olivier Raymond has travelled, remixed and produced a lot of music for very respected labels of the likes of Kompakt, 8bits, Tsuba to name just a few. Only was missing a Long Player, this particular exercise, which forces the artists to assess their influences and aspirations and to crystallise them in a record of one hour. “I’ve had a wider range of influences on this album. Not only jazz, but also folk, classical music, as well as bands such as Radiohead, Lonely Dear and Apparat” Oliver confessed in an interview for Data Transmission. “
“The album reflects me as a person and what I have been through in the last years. It reflects my different state of minds.” But it will also influence the listener’s mood and behaviour. Tides of Mind is conducive to daydreaming, smiling, feet-tapping and escapism... It unfolds seamlessly, much to our serenity and delight. The album also features vocal collaborations of Miss Kittin, Mesparrow and Scalde." via Infiné

Alexis Raphael - Into The Light

"Hot Creations drop fellow east London producer Alexis Raphael’s eagerly awaited ‘Into The Light.’ Both original tracks from the acclaimed producer on this release have been circling the clubs for some time now, with ‘Into The Light’ being picked up for Jamie Jones and Lee Foss’ sets since summer 2011. The B side ‘I Know’ has itself amassed a huge underground following, thus making this one of the most highly anticipated releases on the imprint of late. The label bosses turn in a Hot Natured remix of the title track to add extra spice.
Raphael’s two tracks on here display his inimitable yet intricate and diverse underground house sound. ‘Into The Light’ builds patiently with a deep bassline and murky synths before sci-fi FX begin to seep into the mix. As the moody atmosphere reaches breaking point, the track spills over into lush grooves and a stripped back dancefloor feel as a sexy female vocal lays over the top.
‘I Know’ finds Raphael in a different mood altogether, settling into a laidback and classic sounding groove. Its melodic bassline paves the way for a more sensual and textured track that still moves with a pulsating backbone. Dreamy synths and sleek vocal snippets give it plenty emotion too. You can easily imagine this record being a genuine early 90s track, but such is Raphael’s skill that the Creche man brings a classic feel to a modern underground bomb..." via I Voice
